Ariostean Column – Ferrara – Italy

The Ariostean Column is located at the center of the eponymous square in Ferrara. The monument was erected in 1833 and features a square plinth inscribed with “A Ludovico Ariosto, La Patria” (“To Ludovico Ariosto, The Homeland”), topped by a column decorated with oak branch motifs and a hybrid Ionic-Corinthian capital (adorned with acanthus leaves). At its summit stands a statue of the poet Ludovico Ariosto.

ATS carried out photogrammetric drone surveys to create a high-resolution 3D model and the 2D documentation required for analyzing the monument’s deterioration.
