Festos is an archaeological site nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is one of the most important archaeological sites on the island of Crete, located in the fertile Messara Plain.
The Palace of Festos, built around 1900 BCE, is an extraordinary example of Minoan architecture, featuring a complex system of storerooms, courtyards, ceremonial rooms, and monumental staircases. Destroyed and rebuilt multiple times due to earthquakes and fires, the site reflects the architectural and cultural evolution of Crete.
ATS conducted magnetometric prospections and aerial photogrammetric surveys to produce a high-resolution digital model (DSM- DTM), orthophotos, and technical cartography of the area occupied by the ancient city.
